Kratom is a tree native to Southeast Asia Kratom has a long history of traditional use in regions where the plant grows. In 1836, kratom was reported to have been used as an opium substitute in Malaysia. Kratom and it's many alkaloids have only recently become a topic of scientific interest. Among other phytochemicals, kratom contains the indole alkaloids mitragynine (9-methoxy-corynantheidine) and 7-hydroxymitragynine.

Description

Mitragyna speciosa is a tropical evergreen tree in the coffee family native to Southeast Asia. M. speciosa is indigenous to Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, and Papua New Guinea, where it has been used in traditional medicines since at least the nineteenth century.

Please be aware there are numerous factors that can cause variation in the colour and the vein is only a portion of the leaf meaning a ‘red vein’ kratom may look green and vice versa.
