San Pedro is named after St Peter who holds the keys to heaven as the cactus is believed to allow one to reach heaven while still on earth.

Trichocereus cactus typically grow between 10-20ft tall in the wild with the tallest recorded specimen reaching 40ft.

While Peruvian Torch is not as well known as San Pedro it's widely believed to be most powerful of the Trichocereus family.

Peyote is considered one of the four principal deities of the Huichol religion and it's use dates back over 5,000 years.

Trichocereus pachanoi — known as San Pedro cactus or Huachuma— is a fast-growing columnar cactus that has been used for healing and religious divination in the Andes Mountains region for over 3,000 years.

The name is attributed to the belief that just as St Peter holds the keys to heaven, the effects of the cactus allows one “to reach heaven while still on earth.”

It is sometimes confused with its close relative, Echinopsis peruviana (Peruvian torch cactus).

We personally recommend Peruvian Torch as a better value.
